Underneath the Blazer where the gear selector goes into the transmission "bracket"...on the opposite end of the selector is a spring and it fits into a "socket"...that socket had a sort of cup washer...I cannot find it...where can you get one of those?

May not help much if the interchange at napaonline.com doesn't list it, but the flat washer under the spring is GM part number 492346 (listed as 7/16x3/4) and the "Bushing, Range Sel Lvr Eqlzr Lvr" is part number 1377083.

I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't available from Dorman.

wow...ask and ye shall receive...very detailed

Yes, but only really worth anything if you can still get one! :) The bushing of course is that plastic piece with the hole in it. It doesn't appear to be available through GM anymore.

Is this the same piece? For some reason I thought they were basically a ball cut in half. These don't look like what I remember, but it's been a long time. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Genuine-GM-1377083-Shift-Linkage-Bushing-/170826545019

I have searched with that info... they don't seem to exist...all I get are reference manuals

can't believe nobody makes that part...must be thousands of camaros, firebirds and novas out there that also used them...

that EBay item looks promising, no? I know OSH has the perfect spring for those :) Can you tell if yours is the same as my '85? I can snag some off the ones at my local junkyard.

I took one off eBay...I don't know if that is the right one or not...the socket is hemisphere...looks like it should be a hemisphere looking thing
I am sure it is in the garage somewhere, but do I want to waste a whole Saturday looking for it and maybe not find it...
last weekend I wasted 3 hours looking for the transmission bolts...I finally found them tonight while looking for the missing shift linkage thing...
at some point the time is worth more than the lost part...

sounds like you need to start looking for something else..... then you will find the bushing

I had two 700R4 equipped frames I took apart, unfortunately I don't recall seeing that piece sitting around. If I run across it I'll let you know. Should be easy to find, I would imagine it to be the same piece '73-87(91) with an automatic...

Maybe a rocker arm ball would work??...I swear I've seen those things for sale somewhere, maybe "HELP" or one of the many truck parts places like LMC or Harmons,etc...cant remember where I saw them..might have been in a Nova restoration supply catalog I have--if I find it I'll post back and tell you who had it and a part #...
