4l80e.

I’ve lowered the drivetrain a few times, enough where fluid leaked out the back, to get a crossmember and the TC assembly all built and I noticed fluid along the rim of the pan and built up around this connector. Figured that’s just where it all ran down, but there is actually fluid in the connector. I can’t tell if it’s coming out from here or just collecting. Trans has been rebuilt but hasn’t driven yet. Not sure what to do here.

There are plastic tangs inside the case that hold the connector in place and it’s sealed by an o ring. From what I remember reading when I thought I was having 4L80E issues, they rarely leak unless high mileage. When they do leak they should be replaced, and are not that bad to change. I also remember reading that ones that leak have either been reused after a rebuild or the connector isn’t fully seated for one reason or another. If yours is leaking through the pins and not the outside. I would have to guess the bulkhead is broken and not the o ring. I’m sure Greg will be along to provide the correct info eventually.

Can you move the plug at all? That would probably tell you if it’s seated and latched.
