ATF Question

Just for future reference...Is Dexron IV compatible in an older trans? In a pinch is it ok to add a quart of it in a Dexron III filled tranny? I automatically just grab the III but almost bought the IV by mistake and it caused me to wonder.

Dexron VI is backwards compatible with all older versions of Dexron.

Thanks guys. I'm glad I DID put it back, I saw the price for VI and it was a little nuts compared to III. I thought I grabbed IV not VI (my Catholic ancestors would be ashamed of me) When they sell out all the III it's gonna be SICK filling a tranny!


PS Me and GM don't argue much since I've never had anything new enough to take to a dealership LOL
