Attaching torque converter

Before I hook up my converter to my tranny should I put some ATF in it? If so how much? I know the tranny feeds the converter but it seems like you would want some ATF in there before you get going.

Yes, Yes, Yes.....fill the converter. If you don't, you will smoke it....fast.
