Was curious to how people have their audio set up. Looking to run a couple 10’s maybe 12’s. Not really wanting to have a big box in the back. Also is worth to replace the dash speakers or just do the kick panel speakers. Would like see what what’s out there

I'm running a Kenwood deck with Kenwood speakers in the stock dash locations. I have a small Alpine amp for a pair of Kenwood 3 way 6x9's in sealed/insulated boxes. Prior to the camper install the 6x9 boxes were tucked right behind the b-pillars bolted in using riv-nuts on the interior sheet metal. The camper changed the location of the 6x9's to sitting in the footwells behind the front seats (no back seat with the camper).

The sound is great for as basic of a system it is. The 6x9's have some thump and push more volume, the front speakers fill in the mids and highs. Point to note on the fronts, they really can't take a lot of bass. I'm on my second pair and installed them with bass blockers on the negative circuit to the speakers. I'm only running what the deck puts out which was 45watts and they were still killing the little fronts until I added the bass blockers.

I have 3.5”’s in dash running off the deck, then 2 6.5” wakeboard speakers on roll cage pointed forward. 2 10”s in custom boxes right behind each front seat in the foot wells. Had planned them to go under the seats, but neglected the “suspension” part of the prp’s when building. Butt was meeting woofer lol.

Dad’s suburban is just the 3.5”s and got a retro sound 4x10 that’s dual voice coil and actually brings in a good amount of bass. The stage is all front, but sounds good for a simple truck radio.
