In my shop. Doing stuff.
Went to get supplies for a storage shed at church this morning. Some idiot broke into it. Driving the Blazer back from the hardware store. Sitting at a left turn light. Light turns green, I start my old man roll through the intersection. The blazer is fighting turning left. Something is obviously binding.
BAM......
Then the front of the truck moves left and it steers through the turn fine.
I pull over and look under the front end to see what is binding. Nothing. Drive on to church, straight the whole way and nothing.

Turn right onto the parking lot and it does not want to turn right.

BAM.....
Front of truck goes right and turns.??????

Make a couple of loops in the lot to the right and left.
BAM,BAM,BAM.

Doesn't do it if I coast through the corners.

Yep. Blew up the rear end.

Ouch, that does suck this is on your daily driver blazer right? How's the trans in the work truck?
 
Work truck is good. No issues so far.

The blazer is stock and will remain that way. I do have tons sitting in the barn. And a 14bsf out of a van.

I have a 3:42 10 bolt here that is good .
It needs a new yoke, but I have driven it and it's quiet .
You are welcome to come get it.
I don't have any open carriers out...
In case your ring and pinion are still good.
 
I feel your pain, went through this same crap a couple weeks ago, my factory gov-lock carrier broke at 220k miles, I opted to rebuild the rear end completely with a new open carrier.

My Gov-bomb G80 did the same thing, same symptoms, split like a melon. I used it as an excuse to go with an Aurburn Electric locker.
