I have been gone from my home for about 3 years due to my job having sent me to where I have had little chance to go on line. Now I,m back and
trying to update all my contacts. I have not been able to find Austin k5 web
site. Does anyone know if it still exists or have they gone away. I'm glad to
see that colorado k5 is still doing a great job. It's good to be home......:wink1:

yep...AK5 is a long goner. Micah has moved on & website crashed as already mentioned. If you still remember your screenname & password for AK5, you can get on texas4x4 to access some of the saved tech articles.

The last time I checked, even the tech articles were no longer accessable. I know they had been, via texas4x4, for some time, but for some reason the "server" cannot be found. So, I guess it's all gone for good.

When the server had an issue and the site crashed, Micah was unable to get the owners of it to let him 'back up' the site. So, after trying in vain for a while, he finally just gave up and shut down the site. He had some changes at work, which were not allowing him to spend the amount of time he needed on there anyway.. and was trying to sell his K5 at the time, so I guess it seemed like a good time to let it go.

A few of the Austin guys are on Krawltex now. They are mostly jeep guys but they go wheeling a lot as a group. I have been with them several times and they are a good group to hang out with.

i spoke to THE austink5 a while back when he picked up some parts from me. he has since picked up a real slick k5 but im not sure if hell wheel this one. really nice guy.

I didn't even know there was an AustinK5.com. But I only bought my K20 recently, and only moved to Austin this last year.

Maybe we should look into getting it going again...

Yeah, I don't know who austink5 is, but Micah started the site. He and "nonesuch" were the admin's until nonesuch wasn't able to keep due to work, and then I was the other admin w/ Micah until the site had server issues.

It is a shame the tech section was lost, there was a lot of good stuff in there. Not that other sites, like here, don't have good tech too. But the more you can have the better.

Two Blazer Chalets in the Austin area, the guy in the first photo is in the Austin area somewhere, his '77 model is serial number 1249. But he hasn't answered my emails in ages........ The other guy is a member in our Yahoo Chalet owners' forum, he did a trade for the shell-only from a guy who had the one in the 2nd pic in the Austin Craigslist last November. It will get transfered to his '83 diesel Blazer.
