Stock 89 is auto hubs. Do they say 4x4 on them? If so they are autos. Take them out and use them to keep the pages from flipping in your manual while you are installing manuals. They work good for that

3/4 ton status
They are auto hubs. They have a cam design in side that when you turn the stub shaft it rotates the inner gear and it slides out to engage and outer gear that locks the shaft to the hub. They work sometimes dont work others, they lock randomly and they break. If you can afford it I would swap them with some selectables.
