Rig is 86 k5 350-700--208. 3/4 ton axles, Dana 44 front, 14 bolt rear, 37" military take offs. I've read the threads I could find on doing the swap, most say the same thing,"nothing to it, pull the auto off slap the manual ones on good to go. All you need is snap ring pliers and basic stuff." Apparently I'm stupid or have different hubs because I can't figure it out. I'm pretty sure I need new hubs to make mine work. Could someone please let me know what else I need to get to make them work? Or what step I'm missing? Pics included to show y'all what I'm talking about. Thanks

Forgot to mention, these are the new ones I'm trying to install. Nothing special just mile marker lockouts

You have an early (pre '77) model D44 with external style locking hubs, those new hubs are for a later model D44 (or 10 bolt) with internal style locking hubs. Once you swap those new hubs for the correct parts it'll be an easy, obvious swap - you'll be replacing everything from those 3/8" nuts out.

Also, when reading about swapping auto vs manual locking hubs, folks are talking about factory stuff that came on 80's internal style axles, there was never a factory auto locking hub for the external style D44. The hubs on your axle are aftermarket.

Thanks for the response. After finding a pic of the actual lock outs I need your right, looks simple as hell
