Autometer gauges behind cluster?

Right now I have my autometer gauges flush with the cluster and I'm not crazy about how it looks and it's also harder to see then the original oreintation of the gauges.

I'd like to redo my gauges and have them set back like stock, but I'm not sure how. I see threads where people do it, but I haven't found a good writeup on how to. Also right now I don't have the turn signal lights or brights in the cluster.

Does anyone have a good write up on how to set the gauges back so they are in the stock oreintation and which wires and what leds I need to use for the signals and brights?

I changed all my gauges to Autometer although mine are front mounted BUT with angle rings so you can see the gauges properly. I also have wire pin-out color code in there also so do a search on my username and you'll find it. This was on my 89 blazer so not sure if GM changed wire colors or pin-out locations over the various years or not.

I put mine behind the bezel like you mentioned, I have some pics here of how I did it, on post 86 of my build thread.

But Scott has more info on the wiring than I do, I didn't write all that down since it was in my Chiltons.

I used some simple green and red LEDs from radio shack for the high beam and oil pressure/brake indicators, and I used the stock turn signal indicators.

When I did mine the classic dash (covans at that time), didn't have them angled, but they do now. If I had it to do over I would look at those too, because they are angled now and would save a lot of time, and you can probably see them slightly better since putting them behind the bezel does block part of the view, even though they are angled up toward you.

I am in the process of fixing my build thread since I lost my old image host, so some of the pics don't work yet, but I did fix those pics just now.

I guess I need to find the black piece that's metal, I tried it before with the plastic one and it didn't work out at all.
