I just picked up a 6" Autometer tach for 20 bucks with a shift light and everything works good buddy wanted the all silver one. Well It didn't come with install instructions I'm going to try and hook it up to my 75 blazer. There is four wires a white, red, black, and green. Autometer didn't have the manual on there site I figured that someone here has installed one.

red and black are the obvious power and ground white is for the light(just tap into a marker light so the tach light turns on at the sametime, and the green is the signal and it goes to the neg. side of ur coil or on some TBI's they have a whiteish wire hanging out on the coil/distributor.

Alright So what marker light are we talking about the marker on the side of the fender?? As for the coil I feel retarded asking I just don't remember, were is the coil. I'm sorry I just don't do electrical.

Closest place near the Steering column is the headlight switch. So that when the marker light and dash lights are on, so is the tach.

As far as the coil...if you have HEI it's marked on the Disrtibutor cap cover.
