ok, i'm ready to do a big Powermaster alt and a dual battery setup.. i looked around some and found the driverside tray at ChevyDuty... is $50 the norm for these? or can i get a better deal down at the local stealership? :(

I was checking around and the least expensive tray/ support combo I could find was about $45... I ended up just welding some bent pieces of iron to the wheelwell. Napa had a tray for like $13 and the hold down for about $6...
I had a group 31 so it was a fair size bigger than a typical starting battery, so I wasn't even sure that the auxillary tray and support would work. I've beat on it pretty hard and so far, so good :D

here, you can get the tray for like $7 and the support for $8 and weld it up your self. or the entire thing is $46

I paid 46 for the factory tray...it fits so nice and keeps it stock... it was worth it

The dealership should want around $36 for it. They only used to be 20-23 a few years ago.

You can take a passenger side tray, drill the spot welds, flip the "foot" support around, and weld it back together to get a driver side tray. The only difference between a driver side tray and a passenger side tray is where that "foot" support is welded.

Might also check the local junkyards. I found mine for $5 with the mounting hardware.:cool1:
