In todays KC Star auto section they reported that lutz and GM are making a move to make the base models more basic. This means that a lot of the cars are losing the plastic, maybe abs, etc.. They said that this could be a $750 savings on the avalanche. That and I might help w/ looks. Remember how the first blazers only came w/ a front seat? I like the idea of everything being options.

I seccond the motion, in a big way.

These things have way-too much crap going on, both inside and out.

Gimme the essentials. Air, Cruise and Tilt. Thats it...
nothing more.
And put it in a clean, streight, single colored wraper.
It'd be as good as sold. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

GM needs to make a truck/suv with a SBC manual tranny part time T-case roll up windows rubber floor mats and basic colors and sell them for 15-20k. Then let us modifie them the way we want. The Hummer H2 will probably be a pretty good off roader but it will be in the price range of the rich.

They allready do, it's called a Work Truck.

You can get 'em with all the good stuff, 8.1L, Allison, 6.0s/5.3s ect.
If I recall correctly, they are in the 15-20K price range too, you might be supprized at how much you can get for that price.

Hope you like white tho' /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I think they stopped making the W/T a few years ago...the idea was good though...I'm sure you can ge ta V6 Silverado with nothing on it, but who wants a V6?

I snagged this from a reply I made a while ago.

-Base model Silverado, work truck No fluff, 2wd. $19,000.

-Base model H/D, work-truck, No fluff, 4wd, auto trans, cruise, locker, 6.0L. $28,000 !

-Base model H/D, work truck, 2wd, manual and a 8.1L. $24,000

8.1L is a $850 option. Needs a manual trans or Allison (? I think)

I'll stick to my gunns, Chevrollet makes a superior product!

I walked the lot, and the above is what we had in stock, at the time.

Your right, the W/T badgeing is gone, but they still sell the stripped down models, w/o any of the "extra" junk.
