Awesome Craigslist Find

Selling my 1977 Chevy K10 shortbed stepside. Check it out at Uwharrie on the trails- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxRblvMIVrE&feature=channel
$6000 or make me an offer! Have a whole list of all the parts I've put in also if interested.

This truck is a real performer. I bought it in 2005 and started to rebuild it. Over the course of 8 months I disassembled and reassembled the entire truck, replacing and repairing body panels that had succumbed to years of neglect. I have pictures of the whole build up. Over the past 5 years I have continued to build on the truck replacing any weaknesses with stronger parts. The truck rolls on 37x13.5x15 inch Pro-Comp X-Terrain radials on Mickey Thompson classics with Staun internal beadlocks. There is a combination of skyjacker, Rancho and offroad design suspension for 6 inches of suspension lift; I've also incorporated 3 inches of body lift for a total of 9 inches of lift. The engine is a .040 overbore '86 and up 350 that has been highly modified, the truck has more than enough power for even the toughest obstacles. Sending power to the NP205 cast iron all helical gear driven transfer case is a TH-700R4 4 speed auto transmission that has also been highly modified with parts from TCI and B&M. The drive shafts are from Tom Woods custom driveline. The front corporate 10 and rear 12 bolt axles haven't gone untouched with 4.88 Yukon gears, a Lockright auto locker and Jegs chromoly replacement axle shafts in the rear and a Richmond spool, Superior Axle and gear chromoly shafts, Warn premium lock out hubs and Stainless Steel Brake Corp slotted rotors and large bore calipers up front. Steering is a combination of offroad design crossover setup, Read racing nodular iron steering Knuckles and PSC hydraulic assist. Inside the cab is a Gauge cluster consisting of all Auto-meter gauges, a Painless performance weatherproof replacement wiring harness and five point harnesses for the passenger and driver.
I have all of the invoices and instruction manuals that came with all the parts I have purchased in a three ring binder. I have made this truck what it is today. Anyone who has an appreciation for craftsmanship will enjoy this truck as there are so many intricate details and thought put into the build.

Don't look bad. 3 grand into half ton axles kinda makes you wonder why didn't buy some tons to put under it.6 g's sounds about right for what's been done though.

Building up up a 10b front, $1000. Will stand up to 37's.
Building up a D60 front, $3000. Will stand up to 44's.

It's all about budget/purpose. :thumb:

There is NO excuse for not doing a 14bff swap.
They're sooooo cheap, and they're everywhere.

I know it's a pain to set up a 60, but it's something not out of the realm of any basic mechanic with harbor freight tools. You can pick a whole one ton square body here for less than 3000.

That and how well would a lock right do with 37s?

To build, it could probably get pretty close to 6 grand I bet, depending on what could be done at home.

In reality it looks like a pile. The build quality of some trucks sold for much less on here isnt even comparable. IMO, The only thing it has going for it is that it appears to be rust free, and is a shortbox stepside.

I wasn't saying I'd buy it for that price. Was saying he had that much into the truck and given the fact that if it had all the rust problems and most strength issues taken care of for the most part probably would be worth it to some people. Looks like he hit something and creased the drivers door looking at it again. With paint that could be a fun great looking truck. If offer him 3-4 grand tops if it all checked out after looking at it and test drive. It's hard to find anything over ten years old in the rust belt not falling off the frame, if that hasn't rotted out too.

If I were him I would sell it for parts.

Would probly make more money parting it out. I'm sure after building it he wouldn't do that though since he said its a ongoing project. I'd drive it til the right person came along that wanted to buy it for that price or close to it. Unless its a need money now kinda thing. You usually only get half back what you have into a build though. Like I said I'd say 3-4 grand is attainable. Just gota sit on it til the right person comes along.
