awwright! new tires and wheels! A little quality testing!!

yesterday i traded a guy for my 4 35 bfgs and an unmounted fullsize used spare and $40 for his same tread depth 37 mtrs and a new mounted spare. needless to say it was awesome. these look so good on my truck its crazy.
i also got my front set of zero rates in and did a little needed trimming. im doing pretty damn good right now. im going wheelin tomorrow so i can test em out!

this thing is HUGE now, i can barely see over my door.

heres the tire clearance, they didnt rub while driving but any curb flexin they would.

i flexed it out and i definatley need even longer brake lines, maybe a 10 inch lift set. theyre like giutar stings at almost full droop. i took a few pics on my camera phone but its pretty much worthless here.

what kind of air pressure should i run these on the road? the max says 35psi at 2950! so with my truck i bet its 1500 lbs per tire, so maybe 25-28psi?

That is a good area for MTR's to run on the street. You might even go lower depending on how they start to wear. Trail pressure for my 37's is usually betwen 12-18 psi depending on terrain and sharpness of rocks in the area.

what trick is that??

i run 35" mt/r's and i run them between 35 and 40 psi on the street. after 20K miles, i see very minimal wear. combined with a rear locker, these tires kick ass.

Draw a line across your tire w/ a tire crayon. Drive a short ways down the street, & see if all of it is warn off. If the center only is gone, too much air. If the CHaulk is only gone on the outside you have too little air pressure.

Find a big empty parking lot. Mark a chalk line all the way across all 4 tires and drive a little bit (100ft ) in a straight line. Stop, look at the lines. If the middle of the line is worn off and the outsides are still visible then you need to lower air pressure to get full contact patch on the road.

You keep repeating it until the line disappears evenly across the whole tire. This will distribute the load evenly across the tires and give you a longer treadlife, and the centers or the edges of the tires wont' wear out before the other.

these tires are FUUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! i took them out today and got em flingin a bit. i went with a whole mess of trucks so theres probably gonna be even more pics. definately loving the 37s!!!!!!

then i had this happen!?!?! wtf. it also rubbed a hole in the pressure line and i think a stick caused it. added an extra couple hours at a gas station running to the parts store and repairing it.

mine did that when i put my new motor in...the line may have just bent towards the belt, just bend it down...nice rig!
