I've got a chance to get a deal on 14bff/D44 w/4.09? gears(stamped 45-11)gov-locked rear. $150 for the pair.Would it be realistic to attempt a re-sale at $500/bo? I sold a D60ff/D44 open w/4.11 for $350 and the buyer didn't even question it even though the ball joint was burned out of it from heating the steering arm studs up to remove/replace them.

Also,I want to attempt a rebuild on a trans. just to do it.Does anyone know of a source for rebuild kits.Looking for auto and manual kits.

They will have rebuild kits.

Trying to sell a D44/14FF for $500 is going to be a strech. I'd list for $350/OBO. And expect to get less then $300. Maybe if they were both rebuilt and you had all the recipts...then maybe you could get more out of them. But a D44 is really common...and most people don't want another one. Same goes with the 14FF, except there is more of a market for it.
