Hey guys i have blazer 1976 with 37x14.5x15 " V8 350 5.7
My old axel broked! I need to buy new one so which is best rear axel ratio for pulling cars and rock climbing!! IDONT WANT TO SPEED,
thank you!!

Well, if you are going to use the four wheel drive, you will have to get the same ratio as is in the front already unless you are going to change the ratio there too.

But, generally, you would want to start with something with a 4 in it.
4.11, something like that.
If you do a lot of rock climbing, with those size tires, then maybe a 5.

****!! I thought that lowest number is the highest torque!!

With a 37" tire I wouldn't go with anything less than 4.56 BUT that also depends on how fast you like to drive down the hiway and what trans you're running.

Gear 400 , but i dont want to drive fast! Its just rock climbing!

I think with your 37s go with a 488 or a 513.

But that's all I can say with the info you have given

Lol last quest! Is that means the 2.92 ratio cant move the 37 tires?

I bought dana 60 front 41-9 and rear axle gm 10.5! I think now it would be better!! :p

As long as both axles are 41-9 you should be good. 41 is the teeth on the ring and 9 is the teeth on the pinion. Divide the ring (41) by the pinion (9) and you have 4.56s. Should be good for you.
