Buy thick wall DOM tubing. Do you have the means for machining?

Yep, thick wall DOM tubing. Do you have a means of pressing the tubes into the diff? Local 4x4 shop builds custom axles and its no easy task.

yea i no its nutting easy we have some nationally know 4x4 in my town and i got to be pretty good friends with all of them

Ok as long as ya know. The local guys have a pretty elaborate axle table, and the one employee who's a machinist made all the necessary adapters and the axle table. On the 1st attempt at pressing in the tubes, they were able to bend the table!

Do you mean Axel:

Well you *should* only need one axle tube. I assume you're taking a Ford unit and resizing the tubes to make it fit a Chevy, for the purpose of relocating the driveshaft to the other side...?

You'll just cut the long tube down to make it fit the "short" side, then replace the other one with a long one to make up the difference.

cause im tired of looking for a dana 60 and only finding a combo w/ 14 bolt for 1500 and up , its getting crazy i guess everybody thinks a 14bolt is worth 500 and up stock...

i just figured i just build a dana 60 the way i want it and how i want it instead of getting someone elses over priced worn out stuff......

I don't mean to stop you from making one, but it will probably cost more than 1500 to build one from scratch

i figured 1600 for the housing, inner c, and the knuckles
Yup that's what the local shop uses for most of their axles, I beleive they use SOLID inner c's and knuckles. I thought I heard one of the guys say the tubing was $40 a foot

a week after its finished youre gonna find one cheap! it never fails man. theres been a few hp60s floating around here in central texas but youre right everyone thinks theyve got gold.

from currie is outrages just to get the housing and the options they offer is not wat i want
