After doing a search on the 14 bolts,I'm now very confused.I was planning on getting these axles tomorrow but now I'm not sure.What I have found are;

76' model Dana 44 out of a 3/4 ton pick up.
86' model 14 bff out of a srw,2wd 1 ton.

Will I have to relocate perches and shock mount's?
Will these axles bolt right up?
Other than u-joint and u-bolt,what other special things do I need to know?

I know this topic is beat to death but could you please help?
thanx and GOD Bless,jtpepper

The front will bolt up, the rear, since it is out of a 1 ton, will need to have the perches moved out and the shock mounts relocated. If you want you can also swap the spring hangers on your frame to the ones from the one ton, but it's easier to just swap the perches on the axle.

Sence the axles are coming from differend trucks, make sure the gears are same !!!!!!!

The gears are 4.10's.I'm getting these from my uncle who run's this wrecking yard,he's been doing this for @ 20 years.He is telling me that a 14 bff will fit ,no problem.Only the shock mounts may be different.What is the reason for relocating the perches so I can tell him?Thanx,GOD Bless,jtpepper

the perches on the 1 tons are closer together. not by much, but enough that they must be relocated. A 3/4 ton 14bFF would drop right in.

Also, any 14FF from a 2wd truck has the shock mounts hanging about 2" lower then on 4wd trucks. Keep that in mind too.

Thanx guy's.I'm gonna measure the rear axles thursday.He may have it tagged wrong.I'll let you know what I find.Thanx again,GOD Bless,jtpepper
