I Have 89 Blazer Like To Make The Switch To 60 Front 14bff.i Looked At A 14bff Rear From 75 Chevy Truck. Measurement 67 Inches Drum To Drum, Face 42.25 Center To Center Spring Pads. Will This Work Even Swap? I Plan On Putting On Disk Brakes W/e Brake.

The front D60 is a direct swap into any 69-91 blazer (with exception of brake lines depending on year of axle versus rig).

The 14ff needs to have a 42.5" center to center spring perch to directly bolt into a 73-91 blazer (3/4 ton 14ff) or 40.5" center to center spring perch to bolt directly into a 69-72 blazer (1 ton 14ff). The front driveshaft U-joint is the same but you'll need a conversion joint for the rear driveshaft.

Yep, what he said ^ :)

On the topic, I just got done bolting in my 14bolt and wonder if anyone has the part number for the conversion U-joint... it's 1350/1410 hybrid, yes?

That's the last thing I need to get rolling! (well besides 8 lug wheels that is!)

I don't have a part number for you but the 14ff is 1350 and your driveshaft is something smaller, depends on what year as there are two different conversion joints IIRC.

Swap

If I Did Not Want The Hasle Of Moving Spring Perches On A Rear Which Rear Out Of What Year Truck Would Be My Best Chose? What The Difference Between 3/4 And 1 Ton 14bff's Just Spring Perche Distance And Drum Size.

The 3/4 tons have the same spring spacing as the 1/2 tons. 1 ton rear ends have different spring spacing, you want a FF 14 bolt from a 3/4 ton truck.

Oh, and turn of the caps lock ;)

Cool, thanks! I have a '79 and I suspect the difference in 1/2 ton rear ends is when they went from a 12 bolt to a 10 bolt... I had a 12 bolt.

conversion U-joint

I just got done bolting in my 14 bolt ff and wonder if anyone has the part number for the conversion U-joint. the rear diff is out of a 2004 chevy 2500 with disks. and my truck a 1984 k10 1/2 ton

i was doing some research and i didnt find any u-joint that converts from a 1/2 ton 1310 u-joint to a 1 ton diff with 1410 u-joint. so what i ended up doing was i got a driveshaft from a 2005 2500 chevy duramax and changed the transmission yoke to fit my truck.

yep thats right . the newer stuff like the axle you got went to 1410 joint. the the same size caps as 1350 but the cross center is fatter/wider.

if your doin a custom shaft best swap everything over to as big as you can so 1 ujoint size and bette strength. dont want 1310 on 1 end and 1410 on the other. it will work but not the best for beef/strength.

Allout what other modifications did you have to do to get that rear to fit? Hows the width? That much difference?

what i did was cut off the old spring purches and factory bump pad off . then i found the center on the diff and marked it. then 42 1/2 inches is the measurement from center bolt to center bolt on a 1/2 ton k 10 . i transferred measurements and it ended up being 22 1/4 from center of the diff to center on spring purch .i welded new spring purches with a 10 degree pinion angle.then i bolted up u bolts. and got a custom driveshaft . they dont make any u joint conversion for a 1410 to 1310.

i hope i explained it well.
