Axle Gear Ratio Help

Hey Guys,
I know this is prob posted somewhere but I couldn't find it. I have a 12b and the ring gear reads: GM12 488G 39-8 Any idea what gears these are? I thought they were 3.73? Thanks for the help.

39 divided by 8 is 4.88, which corresponds to the 488 marking on the ring gear.

That axle sucks , you would be better off with a welded 3.73 12 bolt , I happen to have a spare laying around drum to drum with e-brak cables ..........wanna trade
