I have been looking for a set of axles for my truck for a while now. Last night on Craigslist, I stumbled across two sets.

#1 http://lancaster.craigslist.org/pts/3972822647.html

These are basically exactly what I want. The gears are right, it is a bolt in and go setup, and the price is perfect.

#2 http://southjersey.craigslist.org/pts/4043116113.html
Just out of curiosity, I emailed him and he sounds like he will take $600. For that price, I feel like I would be getting a very good deal, and it would leave me no issues about running anything that I have planned for the truck.

Now, my plans for the truck are kind of mild, but at the same time, I don't want to have to worry about breaking anything in the future.

What say ye?

So other the adds being written by retards. It just depends.

You gonna go over 35s? You gonna lock the front?

If yes to those 2 questions then get the tons.

If no not sure its worth the money.

Both of those sets looks like they are gonna need work.

I actually like the one tons for a different reason than alot with smaller tires and thats the brakes.

35s stop not so bad with those big rear drums but match em with the 60s decent sized brakes and you stop like you would in a stock blazer

Eric, I hear you on the ads. That's the only thing that has me leery about this whole thing. Knowing my luck, I'm going to drive down there and find a front IFS assembly sitting on the ground. I might kill a person then.

But as to your other questions, yes, and yes, eventually. I'm going to take a look at them tomorrow.

Get the tons then. You will be spending money on either set no matter what.

I know guys running 37s on 44 fronts, they gotta chro mo them and this that and the other. I don't like high steer on half ton stuff unless you have the extra hole and the 60 doesn't have that problem. So you end up spending a grand or so on your half ton axle.

The Dana 60 on the other hand handles 37s locked up with ease. I only started having major issues with a stock 60 when I went to 44s. On my 40s it was just about as dependable as anything.

BTW when you go look at em don't argue with the first guy that those aren't one tons. Some guys think 8 lug is one ton stuff. Its just easier to let em think they are cool

Wow both options are good but the second option of tons you can't beat it if they are with those new parts like said. 100 bucks I wish I could find that for 3/4 ton when I was looking. I got 400 bucks into my 3/4 tons then put new front disks and rear disk conversion into it because both needed new everything brake wise. All in all I would do the one tons if you can get them for 600. Damn good price since most people want that for a front 60 only.the ones in Lancaster look to need a lot of work everywhere. Look like they've been sitting out in the weather for awhile.

Yeah, I can't blame them. I didn't know either before I got on here, now I'm perfect :haha::haha::haha:

I'm gonna go take a look at the tons tomorrow, and take it from there.

Yeah, I agree with you on all that you said. The 3/4 tons came out of a running truck a year ago, but they look kinda nasty. I am going to see what the other ones look like tomorrow.

Just pulled in to the guys place to buy the 1 tons ........thanks for the add:waytogo:

Btw .....I will have a set of tons for sale tomorrow

 :haha:
