Axle identification

It does have ball joints, but doesnt look like a Dana 44. Looks like a 60. Might be an early 2000's Dana 50. And it has 36" spring pad width.

Im going with dana60. I think if it was a dana 50 it would have to be super duty which would have unit bearings.

Saw it laying in the back of someone's body shop. I don't really need it right away but I was thinking it may be a good upgrade for the front of my jeep. I'm hoping the guy doesn't know much and may just be interested in getting rid of it

I have one other close up if it helps

good for jeep .

cut down long side to make wms width you need. reweld the inner c on .

then cut down inner shaft . bore center out on yoke. press in shaft to yoke to the length you need and plug weld and reg weld on back side.

i know a guy did this and he never had a problem . and much cheeper than custom shaft . but he had acssess to machines to do work needed.

'92-'97 Ford Dana 60. If it has bolt on calipers it is '95-'97. Slide in calipers are '92-'94.

bettin bolt on . i see bolt in that area were slide would be if older style. and rubber boot just below bracket bolt.

Behind a body shop? Prob came from a collision repair. Chances are it is straight as they are pretty stout, maybe replaced "just in case". But, then again, it may be tweaked. I'd find out if it is tweaked before investing a single dime into it.
