Axle Ignorance

Hey Zoomad, i didnt get a pic of the 14b but i did see it most definitely has a bolt on pinion housing. Also the man didnt know engine size but said it was a gas burner. As far as my frt diff, my wife sent these pics (there not great).

Most people look up the 10 bolt cover and get a rear axle picture.
The front 10 bolt is completely different, yes and you have a 10 bolt front

So your wife went out and took pictures of the front axle for you??

She's a keeper!!

I like your direction with the rear axle.

Damn skippy,, although,,,,,,,,,,,, those were the 3rd set of pics she sent. first was blurry pics of the rear calipers, after I explained shes on the wrong end of the damn truck she sent some extremely close but very clear and detailed pics of the harmonic balancer,, I was impressed, but then one more brief discussion of "the other round dirty thing" (her words) I got the pics you see here. yep, that's my girl.

I agree with the axle recommendations listed above. I would not do the 52/56 spring swap in front. It sounds like this will be a mild wheeler. I would only consider that spring swap if it was a dedicated trail rig and you were also planning on taking advantage of moving the front axle forward as well. Crossover steer, long travel shocks, and a long slip drive shaft are a must. I would stick with some lifted factory length springs in front
