Have a 85 and just got a 14 bolt ff and looking at a 60 front. What do I need to look for in a 60 front and what do I have to change to install the 14 bolt and the 60? Will my current springs, driveshafts and steering work?

I know you want a 1985 or later D60 front. Any earlier than that the axle shafts narrowed down. Or, if it is older verify they aren't the narrowed axle shafts. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

So all other dana 60 fronts are crap? I guess I might as well toss my '78 in the trash... /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

any good dana 60 is a good dana 60. you can buy replacements from spicer with non-neckdown shafts for not that much money.

The dana 60 will bolt right up to your springs, but I am not sure about the driveline ujoints or steering links.

What about the 14 bolt going into the 10 bolt spot?Direct bolt in?what about the driveshaft and brakes? Does anybody know about the 60 in front(steering and such that is)?

your going to need an conversion u-joint for the 14ff. I dont know the part number. Brake are the same not sure about the E-brake. and you'll need new u-bolts.
Is the 14FF out of an 3/4 ton or 1 ton? If it's an 1 ton your going to need to move the spring perches and shock mounts. 3/4 ton will bolt in with out any Modification.

It will bolt in. the brake lines will work if your existing axle is an 10b IIRC.
Not sure about the steering.
