axle questions..

I have a couple of questions. First I have an opportunity to buy either 3/4 or 1 ton set of axles for $500 (each). 3.73 in the 3/4 4.56 in the 1 ton no lockers in either. Is this a good deal? Considering they are in good shape..Also they came out from under a pickup how do I tell what model axle they are I know 12,14 bolt etc, but how do I tell the different Dana models? Also how much extra will I have to spend to put the 3/4 under my Blazer? Oh yeah one more whats the diff between FF and SF? If the pick up is a 1 Ton, then it should be a Dana 60. Very highly sought after !!!!! both 3/4 and 1 Ton should have a 14 Bolt in the rear. Go for the 1 Ton. Normally a D-60 will cost $1,000.00 or better.

If its 3/4 what would the front end probably be any Idea?

that would depend on the make/year of the donor truck. Assuming its a chevy, it could be a Dana44 or a GM 10 bolt.

Thanks everybody. Also anybody near the Reno area interested in these axles I will only be buying one set so there is still one more I am gonna go look at them tomorrow let ya know what they are.
