axle shaft opinon which is strongest?

GM did but they are found in a 14 bolt full floater. for the money you will spend on HD shafts for a 10 bolt you might as well convert. I know thats not what you were looking for but even with HD shafts a 10 bolt is still a C-clip axle. You can buy shafts that will hold up to a certain size tire or get a 14 bolt and never think about it. I beat the ever living snot out of mine and have never had a problem.

he is not lying when he says that...

I don't know who makes the best 10b axle but if you go that route the "C" clips can be replaced w/ an elimintor kit.

I would prolly buy Yukon or Superior, depending on how much $ you were willing to spend.

if you beefed up the axle shafts it would just find the next weekest point though...which is prolly gonna be your ring and pinion...thats alot more to replace than an axle shaft....just some food for thought...

go over to Pirate and search for "Yukon axle" they are terrible. apparently they can make a ring and pinion set but not an axle shaft.

Superior or Alloy USA. Don't buy Yukons. There stuff is hit & miss right now, and I have been missing with mine lately. Some people are having great luck with them and others are having problems.

If you are 100% on keeping the 10 bolt then I would recommend those manufacturer's in that order. I would not do eliminators, carry a spare stock shaft incase you break one. From everything I have heard about eliminators they are for drag race apps & leak when you apply heavy sideloads.

I haven't heard anything bad about the Yukon's. I was gooing by a friend on mine, I guess he is lucky. Also never heard about the leaky elimintars. I have ran them in street trucks & always had good luck. They don't get much side load that way though. Good stuff to know.

x2 .

A disc brake kit will hold the tire and wheel on enough to move the truck cautiously .
