Butaa does anyone know a good guide on the e-net... or can give me a brief summary of what i have to do, in dumbass terms that is /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. Any help would awesome thanks ahead of time /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It isn't real hard :

1. Chock the wheels , rear parking brake on .

2. Break lug nuts loose , jack up front axle , support on stands .

3. Remove tire and rim , remove brake caliper and tie off to leaf spring with coathanger or strap .

4. Remove looking hub cap , use picks or snap ring pliers depending on hubs to remove clips or snap rings , use a hub bolt to thread into hub to use as handle and remove hub .

5. Go rent or buy the hub nut socket 4 prong for 1/2 or 3/4 ton , and remove outer hub nut , get a magnet and remove lockring , then remove inner hub nut .

6. Remove the hub and rotor assembly .

7. Remove six nuts holding the spindle on , then gently tap off with soft hammer or 2x4 , or if lucky it comes right off by hand .

8 . Slide out axle(s) , if broken at splines , use a long magnet to retrieve .

9. Install new axle(s) , and reassemble , regrease the wheel bearings .

10. Crack open beeer of choice and celebrate you did it yourself /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

sounds simple enough... i was under the impression that i had to get inside the diff and take a c-clip or something off the axle to remove it /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Thanks for the tips /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Your right , no c-clips up front , no need for them the spindle holds the shaft captive /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

c clips are in 14 Sf, and 10 bolts and 12 bolts 44's and etc

not in fronts and in FF axles

Depending on how the ears are ripped you might have to cut up the shaft to fit through the knuckle. It isn't hard though. If you can change th brakes and a u-joint you can do a front axle shaft.

Well from what i can see the ears are ripped clean off. I bought some 5-760x spicers so hopefully i wont explode them this time :P
