Do they make a sleeve for the axle like they do for the harmonic balancer snout when there is a grove from the seal on it. Years ago I rebuilt a motor for a buddy and his harmonic balancer had a groove worn into the snout where the seal rubbed on it. Went to the auto parts store and the old geezer behind the counter told me about this metal sleeve you glue onto the snout and walla...good as new. My Dana 44 axle has a grove on the axle where the inner seal rubs. I've notice some slight weepage on that side also, nothing major though. Was wondering if they made a metal sleeve to fix this also?

Yep, its called a speedi-sleeve. You would have to measure the OD of the shaft where the seal rides and order the correct one from one of the part stores. They are kind of expensive and IMO, you are probably better off getting a new (or junkard) shaft.

I use these quite a bit at work. A great invention in the right circumstances.

also..

If its a 10 bolt or 14 bolt SF axle, they sell "Repair" outer wheel bearings, that have their own seal built in,and/or ride on a different spot than the OEM bearings did on the axle, where no wear has yet occoured..

But remember, any grooves in any metal part can cause a weak spot--if you beat on it hard,a new or good used axle might be a better option..I've used those bearings in street driven trucks with no problems however..

Do they make these for a 14ff if so where can i get a set

no they don't because the 14 ff is a full float axle they do not use the same type of bearings that the semi float axles do, if you have a 14 blt ff your best bet is the sleve

not sure..

The 14 bolt FF axles are more like trailer spindles, where the hubs ride--they might make speedi-sleeves to repair where the seals ride, but I'm doubtfull they have "repair"bearings available like the SF axles and 10 bolts, since the 14 bolt FF uses bearings that are tapered roller bearings, not the "log" style rollers used in the others..but check with a parts store,I have not kept up with the latest stuff by any means..a lot has changed since I worked in parts stores!...

Well do you know any way you can repair a seal groove cut in the spindal on the 14bff u gave tried to move the seal by not hamering it in quite as far or hamering it in all the way but with it still leaks after a couple hundred miles

Ok, thanks for the reply. I'll try the junk yard route first. And if worse comes to worse, I can have the speedi-sleeve as a last resort.

Now, do Corporate 10bolt fronts use the same axles as the Dana 44?
