Does anyone know if the axles from my '78 (10 and 12 bolt, th350/203) will bolt straight up under my '91? (,10 and 10 bolt, 700/241)
Will they bolt up ok and use the '91 props? Is the drag link end the same?
Thanks.

They should be a direct bolt in, but why do you want to swap your 10 bolt front and 10 bolt rear for another 10 bolt front 12 bolt rear ???, your not gaining anything.

Why, well.......mid life crisis I think! :doah:
At the moment I have a rusting '78. Lifted, 35's with beadlockers, 4.10's with lock-rite. Fresh 350tbi, fresh th350 etc etc.
I also have my DD. A '91, completely stock with 160,000 miles on it but NO RUST!
Now the nasty bit.....I'm buying a new DD. And it's a ...errmm...D*dge 1500 :o
So the plan is to part out the '78 putting the geared axles and 35's on my '91, freshen up the 700r4 in there and put the fresh built motor out of my '78 into the '91 (still with me?).

So one more question I have is, will the '78 front springs fit the '91? I've noticed that bushing kits for the 2 trucks are different, anyone know why?
And if they don't should I go for BDS or EZride (rough country/tough country???) for a smooth ride in +4"?

Springs should fit. 72-older were the shorter ones.

Dunno why the bushings would be different... maybe they changed the spring eye diameter?

IIRC, the bushings are different for 90-91ish. SouthernSpeed, check out the ORD pages for bushings maybe?

You will need a new rear u-joint to mate the 12 bolt to the drive (shaft) line in the 91. Someone on here should know the NAPA part # it will have two different size caps on it. Basically it's a conversion u-joint.

The 10 bolt shaft is so close to 1330 , but I hear its not , its GM 3r or s44 .

The joint to go from 10 bolt shaft to 12 bolt ( auto truck ) shaft is 3-3130 .

My CV is already made for 12 bolt , but my original shaft I carry as a spare has that joint to go from 10 to 12 bolt ( auto truck ) .

You should be 1310 on the 12 sdince you have an auto . They did come 1350 behind 4 speeds , I know I have a 1350 12 bolt in the garage :D

Can someone give an actual part number I can order? And what about the front drive shaft, will that bolt straight up.
I'm flying over to NJ next week to buy a truck from Pine Belt Chevrolet. Is this something they would have/could get or is it strictly an 'aftermarket' supply part?
Is this an actual order number for the UJ? 3-3130
