Ok so I just picked up a d60 and 14bff out of a suburban and the front axle so happens to already be set up for the quad shocks up front (1990 k5) for 1200 and it has 4.11 gears. No idea about what diffs are in it yet but Im not too worried about it right now. Im doing a 4 inch lift, springs up front with new shackles etc, and a 4 inch shackle flip in the rear......I know I need a raised steering arm and extended lines but I feel like Im forgetting something?
Any tips or things I should know before I put my daily drive under the knife for 2 days?
Going to get some H2 wheels monday......any idea on how the general tire grabbers do offroad? From what I hear, they have good on-road manners.

I know Im saying alot but I just dont want my daily driver down for more time than it should:dunno:
Pics will be up soon

You'll probably need conversion u-joints. Get new u-bolts and plates if necessary. Make sure the studs on the pass side of the D60 are good and get to it:waytogo:

You positive you got a D60? They never came stock in Suburbans, just want to make sure you know what you've got.

It definitely could have been swapped in, but never was setup like that from the factory.

x2 on dana 60 front .

pics will be best to id this axle.

and also no raised steering arm offer for 60 axle. its cheep dont want it spacer block or drop pitman arm or crossover swap .

and is the rear semi float or full float. lot of 80's 3/4 tons got semi floater rear.

best post pics of both axles to be 100% sure.

Ditto. The parts Blazer I just picked up has a 14BFF in the rear and guy I got it from said it was a 1 ton setup so I figured it had a D60 up front. Not. Wound up being a 10 bolt.

If it's a 14 bolt rear and 10 bolt front, it's worth $250- $300, unless it's rebuilt with lockers.

If it's set up for dual shocks, then it's probably a 10 bolt. You will definately want to triple check what you ended up with, if you paid $1,200 for them.

no its definately a kingpin d60. They arnt stock axles but they are a matching set from another chevy. Idk how the quad front shock mounts got on there but Im diggin it.. it is a full float as well.. I will post pics up tonight

the axles were originally out of a 1 ton chevy pickup, I ended up buying wheels and tires from the guy as well. the studs are good but I just need to do the u bolts in the rear...and where in the world do I get a conversion u joints?

Napa should carry them. If you search around on here I'm sure you can find the spicer part #'s.
