I plan to stick with my GM 10bolt for now. I know I know its not the best, but it works for me and I can keep my truck fairly stock. Anyways. Does anyone know where to find and/or buy rear axle truss and would I benefit from it? Thanks.

I plan to stick with the 10 bolts for now as well. I am only running 33's and don't play in the rocks so odds of snapping one are lower - but still there.

Thing is, I already have 2 full sets and have had several others offered for nothing. So I figure the cost of the truss would be WAY higher then the replacement 10 bolt:D

Most common 10 bolt failures are the carrier (gov-lock) and from what I've seen here, the ends of the axleshaft, but that is REALLY uncommon.

I know the one failure has nothing to do with flexing axle tubes, and I suspect the other doesn't either. If you aren't doing anything serious enough to require a bigger axle, you probably don't need trusses. Plenty of people use 10 bolts both on and off road who don't use trusses, so I don't expect they help enough to be worth it.

Actually, I have a set of trusses too.:haha:

Why does that figure?

So did you actually USE them before you went to 3/4 ton gear?

Oh, you asked about fishing in your PM...

SWEET! :saweet: You know I'm gonna be begging you to go fishing now, right? :D

The trusses came off a truck I had previously. I've got both the front & the rear but somehow I misplaced the u-bolts for one of them, I can't remember which one right now. All I know is that shipping those things would probably cost a bundle.
