axle width?

Does anyone know how much narrower a '79 12 bolt rear axle is compared to a '79 10 bolt front axle? I'm wanting to purchase some wheel spacers for the rear to even things up and I think the difference is 3 inches (1.5" spacers) but I'm not certain.

they should be the same unless one's from a van.

I believe you are correct. The rear is 3 inches narrower.
