Axle...

So today as I'm crawlin' around under the Burb I see something that made me laugh. I asked my Dad, "when did you snap the front axle?" He said he didn't know but my little brother had driven it a few times while I was deployed.....

Side note: anyone know what this wire goes to? I can't see anywhere that it would plug in. I pulled back the shielding and the two wires are pink/black and brown.

looks like the plug that should plug into the air pump diverter valve if it has one.

As for the wire i have the same thing but no idea where it went either

The 1/2 tons were coming out from under there anyways so it didn't bother me too much. As far as the wire that's the only thing I can think as well(air pump sysytem). I am pulling my hair out with the electrical on this thing.

Agreed the plug looks like it could be for the smog pump stuff. Or maybe the EGR solenoid.

It looks like it goes to the air pump, N9 in the shop manual diagram.

Thanks for the pics, that plug does go to the airpump, but I don't have one on there. Today I replaced the cracked, arcing coil. I also replaced the EGR solenoid, cleaned the EGR valve, and threw on a new set of plug wires. Also noticed that the knock sensor was broken where the plug hooks to it, so I replaced that too along with the antifreeze cuz I had to drain it anyway. And the verdict is.............

All the running issues gone, and she gets down the road like a scalded ape. Now time for the bad news.....I have to leave for Florida on Thursday for a class for a month so it won't be until then that I get to actually start the build-up.
