I have a 74K5 with factory 12 and 44, I am about to buy a 6 inch lift for it, my question is this, if I decide later to upgrade to a 14ff and 60 will I have to buy another lift or will the same lift work? If so why.
I'm not positive but I'll throw a PAD response out there.
No, the lift will work regardless of axles.
The axles themselves you may have to modify, like the spring pads. Normally they are spread apart wider then our blazers, for the 1ton truck frames. something like that
ok i will post here. 11,7xx some post i know a thing or 2 . unlike the pad man before.
all front bolt in only axle / ubolts / ubolt plates / and possilbe brake hose diffrence per year of hoses-calipers.
if you find a 14ff 1ton axle from a 3/4 ton its bolt in. few diffrences are .
2wd shock tabs diffrent.
true 1ton spring perch pads and shork tabs diffrent spaceing.
but if true 3/4 ton 14ff from 4wd bolt in other than ubolts and spring plates. possible ebrake cable rework or swap to your vintage of the truck frame you are using.
