So would 3/4 ton server the purpose and hold up to offroad? I can get a set front and rear 3/4 for $450 from someone here in town, 3/4 ton axles gm10 bolt/ 14 bolt ff gov-lock 8 lug 4.10s Will this do all I need?

thats a really good starting point. wheel the piss out of it until stuff starts breaking on a regular basis. then get a 60. trick is to always be on the look out for one. you never know when you will stumble across a deal.

Man you guys have really cleared up alot, heres my plan the 3/4 tons with 16x8, 8 on 6.5 Bolt Pattern ; Backspacing = 4.25 in. Tsl 36x13x16 with a BDS 6" suspension. WHat do you think?

Sounds perfect. :thumb:

For better ride quality and also more flex you'd be better off with a 4" shackle flip and 2" springs out back.

So do I not order the kit from BDS and just buy what parts I need seperately?

I agree with all of this. most suspension kits come with rear blocks. just don't use them. contact either ORD or DIY4X for a shackle flip. ORD can also get you rear springs.

You do not have to do it all at once. get the suspension kit and run the rear blocks until you can afford the shackle flip and new rear springs.

I am doing it! Kinda why I have so many questions right now. Next week I am buying everything, wheels tires, suspension and axles. Suggestions are taken with utmost respect, for you guys have experienced these things on the Blazer and I have not. The kit I was looking at at BDS is a 6" with rear springs no blocks. Would I get more flex out of 2" spring with shakle flip or a true 6" spring lift?

More flex with less spring and a flip for sure. The more lift you get with a spring the stiffer the spring gets which equates to less flex.

who ever you are buying the kit from should be able to substitute the 6" springs for 2" springs.

I would get the axles first. you might find out that they need more money then you thought to get them road worthy.

For the best performance go with the shackle flip and 2" lift springs. If you are going to get new springs, now is the time to think about swapping to 56" long springs. These came in pickups and some suburbans.

They have an offset center pin, so as long as you mount them with the long side towards the rear, your axle will stay in the same spot. You just need to swap the shackle flip brackets side to side

If I get the 56" long springs will that make up the 2" by squeezing them down to bolt up at 52" and then get the DIY4x4 shackle flip and 4.5" cross over shackles? Will this take care of the rear?

I already ordered my wheels and tires 17"x9" steelies 8lug on 6.5 and Irok's 37"x14"!

BDS doesn't make a 2" spring for the rear! Is there another place I can get a spring for the 2" and just not purchase from BDS?

I have not found anyone that offers a 2" lift 56. ORD carries 2" lift 52's though.

Fwiw

FWIW you could go with a 4" lift and fit the 37s with minor trimming. Better COG and flex. Just buy the shackle flip and front springs for now. Maybe you can get stock 56" springs off the 3/4 ton truck you are getting the axles out of. Sounds like you are making good purchases so far.
