What axles can i put under my k5? i have 44s under there now but i want bigger. does it have to be from a chevy? if not how much modifcation will it take to make 3/4 ford axles fit? just a question cause i do have a set from a ford that are free...

Ford axles typically have the front diff on the wrong side. This would require some big changes. However, the drivers side diff Ford Dana 60 is a pretty popular front axle for newer truck and Jeep solid axle swaps/bigger axle upgrades. That makes it worth a bit of coin, so sell it and buy the correct axles for your truck, which are typically cheaper and more available.

A Dana 60 front from a Chev/GMC K30 is a direct bolt in. The 14 bolt full floater rear from the same truck merely requires new placement of the spring perches (and shock mounts?).

yea i just got the truck, well while on this deployment so i figured i would start with this. but i have been reading about the stock axles blowing up lol so i dont want to spend more money then what is need..... as for why moving kansas cause i am pcsing for ft riley there.. its going to be sweet
