what axles would you use when upgrading from a k5's stock gm 10 bolt,k taking clearence and durablity, as well as cost in to consideration?

your best be would be go to 3/4 ton axles. the rear is very strong but the front is the same except 8 lug. you should be able to pick up a set of 3/4 tons for 600 with 4:10s

if you have the money got with 14bff and dana 60 out of a 1 ton. the dana 60 front can run about 800 to 1500. the rear is about 200 on the high side.

tanks for the welcome. i am plan to up my tires again to a set of 37.5 xml's, but i have already had some problems with the 10 bolt w/ 35's,k but good news is i replaced what i broke with a mechanical locker /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

ge tmore clearance from ground up with a 60 FF rear, common under 2wd 67-72 C20 trucks and alot of them with the 60 rear were leaf spring instead of otehrwise more common coils and trailing arms type suspension, and 2wd were same 42.5" spacing, unlike the 4x4's of that time in which were 40" center to center like the 1 tons(before 73 and after 72 both) and 20 and 30 series longhorns(68-72) are
