B&M Megashifter

Can someone answer a question on these for me. I am trying to figure out if this shifter can be used as a regular detent shifter and a retchet type shifter. B&Ms website doesn't say. On their Star shifter it describes that both functions can be used but doesn't say on the Megashifter description. I want a shifter that can do both but that will work with a 700, 350, or 200r4.

It is a ratchting shifter in L1 L2 and D (OD) then it detents in R N and P. It dosent have a full detent option.

Okay can you just put it in OD or D and go? Not worried so much about the lower gears for daily driving. Basically just want to be able to have PRN(D). I may just go with their sport shifter or unimatic.

Correct.

As said, correct. It's a good shifter. Only reservation about it is that if you're really getting on it from 1st, ratchet to 2nd etc you can ratchet straight into N which is a bit dumb but a minor complaint.

Maybe the start shifter would be better then. From the sound of it in ratchet mode only the forward gears can be accessed.

Yeah, there's a posotive lock out for R etc.
