I'm getting my B52's setup, I marked the frame with a cut off wheel on both sides where the factory spring eye hole is located. You can see the mark in the pic with the tape measurement. I first match drilled and mounted the pass side b52, I went off how well the rivet holes lined up. I know the rear hole is suposed to be aprox the same as the factory hole, but mine is about 1/4 to centerline of bolt different, no big deal. Kert said just go off the rivet holes. So, now in doing the driver side, if I match the 1/4 measurement like the pass side the rivet holes are not even close and the distance from spring eye to eye is off, as you can see it measures about 1/8 to center of the bolt. But if I line up the spring eye to eye measurments from driver and pass side the mark on the frame is off, but the rivet holes line up better somewhat.

I would think logically the spring eye to eye should be more impostant then the mark on the frame, Do you agree? The pass side is done, I have to not locate the driver as good as possible so the truck drives straight. I'm measuring the eye to eye by putting a 9/16 bolt in the B52 hole and measuring back to the back edge of the bushing. These bushings are temporary just for measuring.

Pas side measurement. Also, I needed to close the C up on the frame on the driver side bottom of the frame a bit. I made this wedge. It keeps the top from closing since it's supported by the block and the radius of the frame. It bends the bottome up instead. Just turn it upside down if I need to bend down the top of the frame.

I had the same issue. When I did my frame off restoration I hung my frame upside down and put my new springs on and noticed the shackle angle was different when comparing the two front springs. I measured eye to eye on both sides and sure enough one side was longer than the other. So, I went ahead and moved one of my front perches to make up for the difference. (No wonder my K5 leaned when I first bought it) :doah:

Fast forward to a year ago when I put my B52's on I ran into the exact same problem, I had forgotten about my previous experience. What I ended up doing was just adjusting one further forward to match the eye to eye measurements on both sides.

The frame might be tweaked somewhere. The most important thing is for the eye to eye to be the same on both sides otherwise the front axle will be located crooked and the vehicle will dog track and give you all kinds of problems.

Yep, thats what I thought. Don't want it stink bugging down the road. So spring eye to eye measurment it is. Match drilling Driver side tomorrow. Thanks Gents. I'm powdercoating the B52's and the frame. Probably should shim the buckets a few thousands downward and outward to make up for the powder coat thickness. I should have done that on the pass side too damnit, I just got in the zone and forgot. I can ream out the holes on that side once its coated.

Match drilled the driver side, spring eye to eye is identical. On to the next modification. :D
