Another issue I have seen with these is the front driveline CV joint can actually freeze up and ruin the driveline and transfer case. My father in law has blown out two drivelines and one transfer case because of this. He is currently replacing the transmission, but has not seen any of the other issues listed above. It has over 200k on it now, and runs great. He still wishes he had his 85 that had over 500k before the engine finally gave out.
