Ok got a few things done today, no pics. Couple steps closer. Does anyone know if the newer tie rod with the two short ends will work on the early 44's with the long side short side through the top of the knuckle? The tie rod I have is crap and changing it out is kinda pricey due to the long piece. What says the crap talking people here. :D

I think they are the same just a design change not a measurment 99% on that one, i know all the 44 and 10 bolt knuckle stand offs are the same so the tierods should be.

Dean. I have my other D44 in the garage, from the 6 lug setup. Not to sure what you are talking about but if you need the the tie rod or what ever you can have it. I believe it is in good condition.

Brain it's $40 and straight forward.

did it come with that bracket that your kickdown switch and throttle cable are attached to?

i only ask, because i bought the Lokar kickdown switch, and it didn't come with a bracket, and that made me angry.

just wondering if your kickdown switch saved you the trouble of concocting a bracket.

Yes it did. I like the Lokar one a lot better though. Looks like it would work better than the B&M one.

Lokar came out with theirs maybe a couple of months after I had installed the B&M.

i disagree. i think that b&m one seems more practical for what we do. the lokar one is more of a bling product. if yours shifts down like it is suppose to, then i think you bought the right one. if i could go back, i would have bought the one you bought and saved $30 or so.

Im going to do this for a kickdown, I have been talking to Edelbrock about it and the factory switch that I got from tchris wont work with my throttle cable and carb.

Damn, now that Edelbrock unit is a clean setup, but I'm guessing it's just to work with their carbs. Or is it a univ piece?

there are a few different ones. Its just a nitro switch, but they said its just a momentary switch like all the others, its only like 24 bucks through summit :D
