I decided to get frame powder coated because the price was almost the same as that of a quality paint system. Also powdered the all the hangers. I was able to beef up the rear front hangers by adding a plate to them. Dont know if it is structurally the way to do it but It gave me a chance to play with my plasma lol. I wish I had taken metal shop in school instead of wood but oh well :).

It ran $450 and that was frame, B-52 hangers, rear front hangers, DIY4X rear hangers, ORD engine crosss member, cross tied rear shackles, all the other shackles, motor mount brackets, and the pinion gaurd from DIY4X. Took em three days.

I should note that on the last pic I had to cut the two front brackets that bolt to the motor mounts and re-weld them because they didnt line up. Thought it was only fair to point this out because my welds are nowhere near the quality of ORD and i wouldnt want ppl thinking their welds are crap :).

VERY NICE! I'm going to PC mine too when I can. I have a bunch of parts PC'ed already. You just got to love Powder coat. It's just beautiful.

Looks great, Keep up the good work, wish mine was already done.:bow:
That is the next for mine, but work has been slow so it will have to wait. Because of this my build has had to slow way down.:(

That is less than I thought it would ran. Did you blast it or did they perp it too?

That was them doing all the blasting. They blasted the frame then I picked it up. I ran all the lines in the frame and boxed the frame. Took it back and they blasted it again before shooting it. Gloss black and camaro gray. I used colors that they already had in stock. I coulda' done any color, but if it wasnt a stock color then I would have had to buy 10# and it would been extra.

Where in California do you live, or better yet what city is the shop that Powder coated it for you?

thats not to bad of a price...my local shop charges @$375 to blast & PC a frame & all the little what-nots, & crossmembers...they usually have a 1 day turn around...if i drop it off early in the morning, sometimes i can pick it up the same day that afternoon.
