I sold my 71 and after some searching I got me a 74. I seem to like this year simply because parts are easier to get and it just seems more solid then my 71. I owned a 78 before but always wanted a 73-75 full conv so now I have me a 74. It has 46k original miles and still has the original 350 in it. Let me know what you guys think and any suggestions on things these needed as far as upgrades. I know the frames are known to crack. Anything else?

This has almost no rust. Just a bit of surface rust in the rocker and under the door. Very light, I could probably get it off with some sand paper. The frame is almost rust free. I was pretty excited when I picked it up. Top looks like its never been off.

do Not Molest That Truck! Leave It Alone! Pm Craig Artzner And Take Lessons From Him On How To Take Care Of Yours.

Well that sucked. I typed that whole fuucking post above me in capital letters and the damn thing robbed me blind.

Dont worry I never cut these up. My wife thinks I love it more then her. My 71 I had was restored all back to original.

That's a nice Blazer! I saw that one on eBay about a year and a half ago, right around Summer 2006. Tan interior with updated cloth accents, right? I would have seriously considered it had I the money at the time (it was before I got my green one).

Awesome that a fellow CK5'er got it! :waytogo:

Nope it has gray interior with woodgrain on the door panels. I remember seeing the one you are talking about too. That guy bought that off someone near vegas for 2500 and then sold for a pretty good profit. I would have went and checked it out but vegas is 10 hours from me. I love the green blazers too. They are pretty cool looking.

That's cool, yours looks just as nice as that other one. I figured they'd be too rare to have two that look exactly alike (orange with a white top). That one that was on eBay even had the chrome rims like yours...

But I'd rather have the stock woodgrain interior panels anyhow.:thumb: The interior of that other Blazer was "resto-modded".

Yeah this has the cheyenne trim with a tilt wheel. The orig steering wheel has no cracks. The only thing it doesn't have is a tach gauge cluster. It does have the clock though. I have a tach cluster on the way to do a swap. Maybe down the road ill put one of those dakota digital setups in it. Did you restore yours? If you did where did you get the rear side panels? Mine have speakers put in them.

My interior is all original, never been messed with. As far as original '73-'76 woodgrain door panels; nobody makes worthy aftermarket replacements (IMHO). Your best bet is someone on here (I think Skigirl had some a few months ago but don't know if she still has them) or eBay. They're tough to nail down.

I wouldn't go Dakota Digital if it were me, not on that beautiful specimen. Just do the swap for your tach cluster and call it a day.

Yeah it is kind of pricey to do. I did one one my 71. It looked really nice but was a good 600 bucks to do. Ill probably just save the money for an engine upgrade down the line. Maybe a nice 383 or something. My door panels are good but the rear panels in the bed are a little wore. Maybe I can have them redone at a shop. I know I got a set for my 71 and they were 500 bucks. Man you were pretty lucky been to find a clean original like yours. It looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. I had a heck of a time finding one as clean as mine. My interior I would give a 7 or 8, but yours looks to be a 10. I think one day she'll get a full restore like my 71.

Dont worry reddog it will never be cut up or modified to much. I think even if I lifted it would get at most 2 inches to clear some 33s. I will never do any cutting on the body or rhino line or any custom interior other than bolt in stuff. Thats even if. I may just do nothing and drive it as is. I do have a roll bar. Not sure if its origninal. But I want that so I can make a bikini top.

Emissions is very minimal on there , just clean it up , will look better if you can thump all over a Camaro and then pop the hood for them and they see that stuff :pimp:
