Back In the Saddle Again

I would only inboard the shocks if you're going to build a traction bar.

The factory set up with them splayed front to rear is to control axle wrap.

Funny thing is it took Ford and Dodge a long time to figure that out. I remember Ford bragging about it on one of their redesigns of the super duty.

Those early Super Duty trucks rode like pure dog shit. We sent two back to Ford to fix. They moved the shocks back out and changed to a aftermarket rancho under warranty

we went so far as to put a 600 concrete block in the back just to test

All compounded by stupid heavy leaf springs

Really only good for hauling the Johnson outboard to the lake...

i don’t hate that idea regardless of moving the shocks in or out. Lots of sand out here. I’ll need all the traction I can get.

decisions. I don’t want to link it until I get the 14bff.
Hmmmmmmm……

I’m thinking for the time being just getting the shocks as close to stock position with hoops and running my twice pipes.

Once I get them tons I’ll start really getting serious on the goodies.

I never had an axle wrap issue on my last K5. Although I didn’t wheel it hard. I have a feeling this sand out here is going to be a real bugger though

Why move the shocks? The welds are ugly, but I doubt it is going anywhere.

Martin
Also the stud on the passenger side isn’t long enough to put an entire shock on lol they had to notch the shock to get it to fit :haha:

There’s a couple holidays in the welds on these I’m contemplating grinding them down and welding them up proper.
