Back In the Saddle Again

can anyone concur that for 1 3/4" .120 DOM that you use aproximatey 9 5/8" for a 90° bend? 6.5" CLR

something is up with the follower die on this. it keeps leaving deep marks. might be looking at getting a replacement.

Check it for any burs on the corners.
Mine will do that if it’s not lubed like a friday night street walker.
And I lube 12” of the the tube that gets pulled into the die.

I ended up sanding the follower down, filing all the edges and beveling the entire profile of the tooling. there was some damage from the previous owner from dragging a burr through the dang thing. I had lubed it before making that bend but I didn't see the damage on the follower. i got it bending without any marring now.

That's the trick, none of these comes smooth enough.
I know @Greg72 did that, and it made a huge difference.
The smoother you get and even polish it the easier it will roll.

I dont have any polishing compound but i did hit it with 80-320-600-1000-1500 and its nearly a mirror inside the follower now

Some time the plate pocket is not deep enough for the box body and have the bolt boss ears sit flush

What Wes said.

Check that everything fits flush. Mine didn’t and it cracked the box and blew out the holes in the frame.

While welding I constantly smacked this sucker with a hammer to make it sit against the frame completely. Thanks for the heads up but I dont believe to have any issues bolting it up. I did drill the holes 1/32 over 7/16 as well. 15/32 drill bit. The ears are flat and flush.

Actually yes i just looked and there is just a little space on forward top most ear. Looks like i need to grind the housing boss down a bit. second picup there you can see what i mean.

Looks like i wont be able to run the high tie rod until i get some custom leafs made. I am running the EZ inch up front to level the truck out and it moves the leafs too close to the tie rod.
