Man I’m excited about this.

So for the color. I’m still undecided. We have 3 gallons of gunmetal sitting in the shop which I could use for free and buy clear. Or I can go singlestage. I just don’t know what color to go with.

Back in high school I dreamed of buying a brand new ’86 K10 step side in gun metal grey but it was $20k(!!).

I would have a very difficult time NOT using the gunmetal, free would be extra incentive to me!
It may not be the perfect color to keep temperatures down, compared to white, but the look is much cooler!

That’s the caveat, it’s a base only gunmetal so I’d have to buy clear. Which will probably be more expensive than just buying single stage paint.

Yeah, the roof is totaled on this truck. If this was a resto I would replace the entire roof skin. But either way I go I’ll be able to get it painted after it gets beat.

Nice progress, I know you're happy to be getting this close to done. Can't wait to see it when you're done. I'm inching toward this day with mine.

There was something about that blue calico look that was pretty neat, though.

My painter can lay anything and make it look good. I have a hot rod magazine featured painter at my disposal haha

Etch primer on the bare spots. Got this side and 1/4 of the other side done tonight.

I know you want it in paint but this is where all the defects need to be addressed. Don't rush
