Back In the Saddle Again

You need more driven gears or less drive gears to lower your speedo number.
Unless I misunderstood and you're showing slower than actual?
Doing the calculator you posted with 18T drive 4:10 ratio and 35 tires says I need 42T driven gear no it’s reading fast

Well sometimes you need to corroborate the results, they could have a bad formula or something you entered was wrong.
If you remove teeth from the driven gear, then you will get a full revolution earlier, that spins the speedometer cable more, faster reading.
You need more teeth per revolution, 7 to be exact.
If 53 teeth is not available you need less on the drive gear, 15 would be the best number

Sorry, 44+7 is 51

For those that don’t know. When I assembled my TC the last time. I was cleaning my shop and looked in my old input shaft and saw the thrust bearing that rides the output where it meets the input. This was after I installed the Tc in the truck. DOH! So last night I did a thrash course to see how fast I could drop and split the case and install the thrust bearing. 2 hours flat. Has to be a record. Brought to you by easily removable exhaust and a fill hole in the cab floor. :D

Just purchased the CFM Industries Heavy Duty gas tank skid.

I am working on designing a cargo slide for the rear for easy access.

Really looking at the GMTK military tool kit for the truck. Snap on wants about 3k for one. Thinking of buying an empty surplus box and filling it myself.

I have the axle prepped and ready to go in. Thinking I will tackle that this weekend and get drag link measurements.

I am highly contemplating rewiring the entire truck.

It’s all down hill from here. Nothing but fun stuff now.

Looking at how I can install a rooftop tent onto my roll cage. Thinking I can add Velcro slats that can flap open for mounting while maintaining the soft top.

Either that or I’m contemplating building a matching trailer to haul the camping gear in.

There’s a few nearby and in town here but the guys in town of course think they are worth their weight in gold. So funny how havasu is like that. Guys think their junk is worth a fortune.

So I’ve ordered a complete bumper to bumper harness from Jabin Wood / Harnessworx. I spoke with him about issues people were having with him a while back and he put the rumors to rest for me. During the pandemic there was a lack of jacketed wire because of the resin plants in the Us being shut down. This caused him to be unable to order the wire necessary to compete the harnesses. He only uses top of the line wire and connectors and isn’t going to cheap out to make his orders happen. I am excited to get that harness in about a month.

@K5Devil I ordered a custom dash harness from Jabin a few years ago and the product is EXCELLENT, if I told you it was GM you’d believe it.

That said, his communication left a lot to be desired. He was a little slow on delivery but not horrible (6~7 weeks vs the 3 quoted). Once we got to the 3rd week I messaged him about an ETA and he wouldn’t answer. Around the end 5th week I told him I was going to dispute the charge if he didn’t at least reply, at that point he started talking again.

His product was well worth the wait / effort and I’d order from him again but I would also stay in contact with him weekly.

I’m in no hurry for it. It’s almost too hot to work outside right now. So I got 3 months of just hoarding parts again lol
