how much back pressure do u need- i have a sbc 350 -i want to cut my exhaust off b4 my flowmasters (bc theyre old and sounds BAD) so how much pipe do i need to leave on-
If what i remember is correct, you will need more than just a certain legnth of tubing to achieve the correct backpressure. Most ppl achieve this with mufflers and/or cats.
Nascar/Stock cars run mufflers?, top fuel drag cars run mufflers? don't worry about back pressure, run with out the mufflers if you want noise. Running long enough pipes out the back will quiet the tone just a bit anyways.

Do you crawl at 9000+ RPM all day? You need some backpressure to help make torque on the low end.
Thats the job of the gears, whatever though, everybody has their own opinions i guess, finding this out with this web site, weird ones at that. I'm out. have fun.
