I'm looking to install a back up camera in a 1985 k5 blazer. Specifically I'd like to get one that is a camera in the rear view mirror. I saw the velocity built blazers have them. Does nahyone know who makes a good camera that would be in the mirror?

Thanks,

Use a wolfbox off Amazon with the windshield mount kit, you'll get a dash cam built in also

I use a WolfBox mirror dash cam off of Amazon. It has a dash cam and a rear view mirror cam. You can split the screen and use both dash and rear view cam at the same time if you want. I also used a windshield mount kit so I could mount it in place of my existing rear view mirror. It works really well, had it for about 2 years now.

I have 2 Wolfbox. The 900 pro has 3 camera option. One rear 2 front, one at mirror height, 2nd can be mounted grill bumper where ever to help with obstacles.

You
can configure display to show rear view ir split view or all 3.
Has gps and a compass built in.
Front camera displays in 4k. Rear is 2.5k. Records has wifi and phone app. Can watch any saved video on phone. Can also be voice controled.

Very happy with the 900pro. Have a 840 to install in my 77 burb. The dune buggy is getting the 900pro.
Might get a 3rd for 01 burb, it allready has a generic back up cam and stero lcd display works good for backing up to a trailer ball.

Here's a thread I started after I installed mine: https://ck5.com/forums/threads/fit-retrofit-backup-camera.330094/#post-3768180 Pretty sure it's a Boyo.

Just going to put it out there, I feel the all in one head units are a far better option at this point if you can swing it. The rearview mirror screen is usable, but with all the advantages of the head units, I'm going that way. I get it, a lot depends on what your current dash situation looks like, the mirror is relatively clean, it's just extremely limited. The larger screen for backup isn't going to hurt.

Atoto is the brand I've been watching, there are others of course. The all in ones are maybe $50 more than what I spent for the mirror.

Never did move the camera up, it's usable as is. I've had two problems, neither of which is a failure of the mirror. One is an odd wiring issue that I'm not sure how I caused it, the other is an intermittent backup switch.

I use Red Tiger dash cam. But if you want get a universal one. But make sure its is a boly on because people trying to steal it.
